The Ultimate Work Table that every woodworker should own
The Harvey table saws are an Australian favourite, packed with high-quality elements, designed for easy usability, and come standard with great, premium accessories. The Harvey ultimate work table helps equip woodworkers with the tools to accurately prepare timber for successful projects.
Gregory Machinery has worked closely with our premium woodworking suppliers to bring Australians the ultimate workstation, incorporating the table saw from Harvey and made-to-spec cast iron router table with an insert to perfectly fit the JessEm router system. These inclusions create a table saw set-up that give woodworkers all the tools to get the job done while minimising required space in the workshop.
The Harvey ultimate work table is modular allowing woodworkers plenty of options and variety to align with the needs and requirements of the individual. Read on to find out the options and build your ultimate workstation.
STEP ONE: CHOOSE YOUR TABLE SAW
Select from four varieties of Harvey table saws, from the entry-level Ambassador 200-30 cabinet to the most popular Alpha HW110LC-36 and Alpha HW110LC-36P Cabinet Table Saw or the Harvey Alpha Dovetail.
STEP TWO: ADD YOUR CAST IRON ROUTER TABLE
Depending on the table saw picked, the cast iron router table designed by Harvey will be added. For the Ambassador saw with a table width of 685mm, the router table has been precision cut to slot onto this saw. For the Alpha saws, a slightly larger 800mm table insert fits between the front and back fences of the saw.
STEP THREE: CHOOSE YOUR ROUTER SYSTEM & LIFT
The next step depends on your choice or preferred router motor i.e. either a conventional plunge router or a dedicated round body router motor. The most popular set-up is JessEm’s Mast-R-Lift II coupled with the V3 AUK round body router motor. This set-up provides the greatest flexibility to perform most, if not all, operations from above the table.
If you already own or choose to use a conventional plunge router this can be coupled with JessEm’s Prestige Lift for ease of height adjustability. This setup will still require you to make router bit changes from underneath the table unless you add a router bit extension. The plunge router can also be set up with JessEm’s Rout-R-Plate insert as a more basic and economical option.
STEP FOUR: ADD THE ACCESSORIES
The next steps are to build out the workstation by adding the necessary accessories.
Regardless of which JessEm router system you decided on, the Harvey RF-36 COMPASS Router Table Fence has been designed to fit both size tables (685mm and 800mm). The Harvey fence has precision-machined inserts in the cast iron tabletop to effortlessly slide the fence into position.
Having adequate dust removal is imperative when working with timber. The Harvey COMPASS RT-DC (Router Table Dust Collection) system is an optional dust collector system that connects to portable dust collectors. The adjustable air flow system ensures that the dust is removed quickly and efficiently.
- 10 piece insert ring kit with caddy
- JessEm router clear cut stock guides
- Feather boards (single or double) to reduce kickback and chatter on the timber
